August has been a month of sharing for Peace and Love International! We were very fortunate to have received hundreds of boxes filled with goods from our friends in Canada, and we’ve been busy connecting with established, reputable partners in the Cape to see how we can be of assistance to their important efforts. As an organization we stick to our beliefs, and we believe that the greater good is benefited most when we are cooperating with other humanitarian organizations. As such, in the next few weeks we’d like to introduce you to some of our community partners. Today, we’re excited to acquaint you with Noluthando School for the Deaf!

Located in Khayelitsha, one of Cape Town’s most populated townships, Noluthando School for the Deaf  looks after the needs of a largely under-assisted demographic: the deaf. Education is very difficult to come by for deaf youths, and for impoverished deaf people the struggles are even greater. Deaf adults lacking education have extreme difficultly securing work in a country where unemployment is so rampant. However, Noluthando’s mission is to create opportunities for learning for those who would otherwise be left without such unique support. We wanted to help…

Noluthando School for the Deaf provide a host educational and vocational training programs for those with learning disabilities. However, they are underfunded and cannot afford to purchase all the materials they need for their programs. As such, we shared some resources with them, including wheel chairs, hygiene supplies, furnishings, learning materials, and medical equipment.

Our hope it to be able to assist Noluthando going forward. We wish them luck with their efforts, and thank them for the great work that they do.
